All graduates of Mercy, St. Mary, St. John, Mount St. Mary and St. Berchmans are members by right. Students who pursued courses leading to a diploma, but who did not graduate, shall also be members. The Alumnae Association includes some 6900 members, about 3500 whom are in the Omaha area. Mercy alumnae live in many parts of the world, including most of the 50 states and Canada.
The purpose of the Alumnae Association is to (1) promote the interests and resources of its members in support of Mercy High School; (2) build continuing relationships among its members and between the members and the school; and (3) assist in developing a dialogue between the school and its supporters in the community.
The Alumnae Association is governed by the Alumnae Council, which consists of 16-21 members and the Alumnae Director. Honorary members are inducted into the Council by the President of Mercy High School and a majority vote of the officers of the Association. The officers of this Association consist of a president, past president, president-elect and secretary. The officers¹ one-year term shall follow the fiscal year (July 1-June 30).
Officers may be re-elected to consecutive terms, but the president must change at least every two years. The Alumnae Council meets quarterly.
