The Christian university has challenged Roberts in academic ways but has also helped her continue to be able to compete.

“It is extremely tough being a student athlete, but just like Mercy, the faculty truly does care about their students, and wants nothing but the best for them.”

Roberts says Mercy helped her develop into the confident person she is today. She says that Mercy showed her everyone is unique, and that is what makes Mercy such a strong community “is we combine our differences.”

She says there have been moments where she has been tested, but the morals and standards Mercy embedded in her as a Woman of Mercy, and a child of God, has helped Roberts keep laser-focused on her true goals.

Roberts keeps in contact with current Mercy students and with alumnae. She describes it is “as an awesome standpoint when grown together as women in the same place. When times are hard there’s always something or someone to fall back on, and that is our faith,” she added.
