Your gift to Mercy High School can make an immediate impact. Whether it’s answering the call and making a pledge during Phonathon or creating a scholarship or giving an estate gift, Mercy relies on its generous donors to provide a Mercy education. There are many ways for you to help. And donating can be very tax beneficial especially in the case of appreciated stocks for example.
New Monthly Giving Club: Mercy x12
Many of our donors have asked for an easy way to plan their donations to Mercy High School. Instead of waiting for our annual Phonathon appeal letters, they would prefer to add a line in their monthly budget for a gift to Mercy—right next to that car payment that most of us have.
In response to this request, we created a new monthly giving club: Mercy x12, or Mx12 for short. And it’s a simple 1-2 step process—
One of our donors sent this interesting idea to us:
$10 per month = 2 days of tuition for a student
$25 per month = one full week of tuition.
The benefits of Mx12 are that you have full control of your giving to Mercy, Mercy receives a steady, predicable stream of donations in support of the Negotiated Tuition Program, and our Mercy Girls get the opportunity of a Mercy Education. It’s a win-win-win!

Annual support is the lifeblood for private schools. It enables donors to share in the daily operation of the school and to ensure that the lifetime advantage of a Mercy education continues to be affordable to all families. Very simply, you and your family donate funds for Mercy to use in the way they see fit.
Scholarships and Tuition Awards
A donor can establish an endowed named scholarship or tuition award with a minimum gift of $25,000. The scholarship or award can be funded in a variety of ways: a single gift; a series of gifts over several years; or a planned gift from the estate of the donor. Such a gift has perpetual benefits in the impact it can have on a young girl’s life by providing a Mercy education.
Memorial gifts are a meaningful way to honor the memory of family members or friends while supporting Mercy High School. Those who have been memorialized at Mercy are remembered in our annual Memorial Mass each November. The names of the deceased are entered on the Memorial Wall in our beautiful Our Lady of Mercy Chapel.
If you have occasion to celebrate a graduation, birthday, anniversary or other significant milestone, a gift to Mercy High School in honor of a friend or loved one may be the perfect tribute.
Whether you make a memorial or tribute gift, you may designate it to support Mercy’s tuition assistance program, our endowment fund, or an existing named scholarship, if you wish. In either case, your gift will advance our mission of educating young women in faith, knowledge, and service.
Matching Gift Programs
In an effort to encourage their employees to support local non-profit organizations, many corporations match the gifts their employees give to non-profit and charitable organizations. Check with your employer’s human resource office for details.
There are many ways to make lasting gifts to Mercy High School. In fact, making a deferred or planned gift to Mercy can be a tax-savvy way to support the school’s mission and can be an enduring gift for generations to come.
