Welcome from President

Catherine McAuley, the foundress of the Sisters of Mercy, was a woman of great vision.  McAuley envisioned the faith-based education of women as a means to create social change and help women discover and achieve their full potential. It is this philosophy that is the foundation of Mercy High School. My favorite quote from Catherine expresses it well. “No work of charity can be more productive of good to society than the careful instruction of women.”

Thank you for your interest in Mercy. We realize there are many things to consider when you are searching for the right high school. At Mercy, we pride ourselves on being unique. No other school our size has the blend of academics, diversity, athletics, activities and spiritual tradition in a welcoming and innovative environment. Our girls come from 41 residential zip codes in Omaha and several from foreign countries providing a unique perspective for our students

At Mercy your daughter will be challenged to be her best self. She will have an abundance of opportunities and personalized attention from a top-notch faculty committed to her success.

Finally, we believe that this quality education should be available to any girl who desires it. The Negotiated Tuition Program, where tuition is set based on family’s financial situation, was created decades ago to give girls this opportunity. In fact, we provide more financial assistance per student than any other high school in Omaha.

Mercy has come a long way in 60 years and our faith-based, college preparatory education has stood the test of time. But don’t take my word for it. We invite you to schedule a visit to the school through our Admissions Office. See for yourself the Mercy difference. And watch this video to learn more.

Many blessings to you and yours,
